Prenatal Support
Anticipating the journey of childbirth, my support as a doula begins well ahead of labor itself. Through a series of 2 to 3 prenatal sessions, we collaboratively equip you for the upcoming birthing experience. These preparatory meetings encompass the creation of comprehensive birth plans and the acquisition of invaluable comfort techniques. Maintaining consistent communication, I'll be readily available to gauge your well-being and extend assistance whenever necessary.
Birth Support
I am dedicated to providing support throughout your entire labor journey and will meet you wherever you have chosen for it to take place.
Post-partum support
My assistance extends beyond the labor and delivery phase, as I am dedicated to providing care throughout the initial weeks following childbirth. During this postpartum period, my visits are centered around offering guidance and support to facilitate a seamless adjustment to the journey of parenthood.

Hello! I'm Amy Lourido, a dedicated birth doula and educator, here to support and empower women and their families as they embark on the transformative journey of childbirth.

I began my journey in the bustling Los Angeles area back in 2013. The diverse and dynamic environment of growing up in California shaped my approach to birth support, instilling in me a deep appreciation for the unique experiences and needs of each family. This vibrant setting taught me the importance of adaptable and personalized care, which I now bring to my practice in Iowa.

Certifications and Expertise
I am proud to be a certified birth doula through both Childbirth International and Supported Birth. My training extends beyond the basics, encompassing specialized knowledge from trainings such as Spinning Babies, Gilligan’s Guide, trauma-informed birth practices, and fundamental breastfeeding support. This diverse skill set equips me to offer a comprehensive and holistic approach to supporting you and your family.
Life Beyond Birth
Beyond my doula practice, my life is rich and multifaceted. I'm a devoted mother to three incredible daughters. In my spare time, you'll find me in the movement arts community leading Capoeira classes with my husband and serving at my church.
